Have you been spending money this weekend?  Well judging by the chart below even in the UK now with the exception of the pre-Christmas week we are in the middle of the biggest spending fest.  Certainly different from five years ago...

And just to put a couple of US-centric numbers on this…U.S. retailers raked in a record $7.9B in online sales on Black Friday and Thanksgiving, up 17.9% from a year ago, according to Adobe Analytics...Cyber Monday is expected to drive $6.6B in internet sales, which would make it the largest U.S. online shopping day in history.

This made me laugh...I am not sure this deal is on offer...
...especially as this quote from The Sunday Times doesn't sound or feel like a good idea. “The withdrawal agreement will not contain a figure — the Brits only need to indicate what, and how. Not how much"

Still...sounds as if the Brexit talks are moving in the right direction...but Mrs Merkel’s travails may have a few influences as per this link:

‘...the SPD would probably have additional demands for entering a new coalition, including control over the finance ministry and concessions to Emmanuel Macron, the French president, who seeks an end to austerity across Europe...This would have damaging implications for Britain’s efforts to secure a substantial post-Brexit trade deal with Europe, as Germany would “support” Macron’s hard line and his attempt to attract UK businesses to France’
