Financial Orbit wrap 29/12/14

Five sentences or graphics which sum up the Financial Orbit output over the last 24 hours across the website, twitter account and anything else thought about...

1. So the Greek Parliament does not give sufficient support to the Greek PM...and so elections await in about four weeks time...

2. I muse in my latest Yahoo Finance Contributors column why Japanese companies are doing the right thing (despite it hurting Abenomics):

'barely one in 10 firms plan to raise wages in 2015, according to the survey of 47 firms. More than 70 percent said they would spend cash reserves on dividends and share buybacks, with most of these also putting investment ahead of wage rises'

3. Not a good equity:debt split for the 'bottom 90%'


4. I publish my '15 macro thoughts for 2015'  and try to stop myself from talking overtly about C------- W---
