Financial Orbit wrap 28-08-14

Five sentences or graphics which sum up the Financial Orbit output over the last 24 hours across the website, twitter account and anything else thought about...

1. In Asia today I note some unusual movements in the Australian dollar and the Chinese markets given shifts in iron ore and Chinese property prices over recent weeks and months

2. I am impressed by recent numbers from Samonsite...

...but find the out-of-favour Prada of potential greater interest

3. An excellent graphic from today's Financial Times which indicates just how much some of the major financial markets have moved "post-Lehmans" starred in charts today:


4. An excellent guest post on Tencent highlighted just what an interesting company this Chinese internet and related behemoth is.  Not cheap...but fascinating and a company to stay in close contact with. 


5. A crowded final point...I still see opportunity for Pernod Ricard as the Chinese numbers start to turn...


...I am stunned by continued US budgetary deficit extrapolations...


...whilst Vivendi continue their journey to becoming a media company.
